The NIH Office of Communications & Public Liaison News Media Branch (NMB) within the NIH Office of the Director is NIH’s central resource for reporters seeking information, interviews, and media assets abour Â鶹´«Ã½ and its 27 Institutes and Centers. Our office assists reporters in obtaining interviews with the Â鶹´«Ã½ Director and NIH OD leadership, and information about the NIH budget, grants, trans-Â鶹´«Ã½ initiatives, research programs within the NIH Office of the Director, etc.

Collectively, the NIH media offices are dedicated to sharing NIH news with reporters and helping journalists secure expert interviews, information, and visual assets to support their stories.

NIH News Releases

Visual Assets

The contains a wide range of downloadable images, b-roll, illustrations, and infographics for use by the media. These visual assets are free to use with the appropriate credit provided with each image. If you are seeking a visual asset that is not on the NIH Flickr page, please contact our office.

Filming Requests

Permission must be obtained from our office prior to filming or recording on the NIH campus. Upon request, we can arrange filming of NIH buildings, events, or interviews with NIH leadership, researchers, physicians, and administrative professionals.

Once permission has been granted, we will make the necessary arrangements with campus security, provide parking information, and help guide crews through the process of setting up filming on campus, including going through security.

Photography Requests

Photographs of the NIH campus and buildings are not permitted without prior authorization from our office. To arrange a photo shoot, please contact our office.

NIH Remote Studio

The NIH has a high-definition remote studio that can be booked by television outlets for interviewing NIH experts remotely for a minimum fee of $350 per 30 minute slot. Producers must first coordinate with the relevanr Â鶹´«Ã½ media office to schedule the interview with the NIH expert. Once the availability of the NIH expert has been scheduled, producers must then contact Video Link and the NIH News Media Branch Office to schedule the studio.

Interview Requests for Patients at the NIH Clinical Center

All interview requests for participants in a research protocol at the NIH Clinical Center must go through the , which will coordinate with the relevanr Â鶹´«Ã½ IC to gauge interest with the physician researcher and research participant.
